Yesterday after I had dinner at a Mexican restaurant with Le and Enrique, in Riverside, we went on a hunt for choco flan. Sadly all of the Hispanic groceries and panaderias that we went to didn't have any. We finally ended up getting a couple of Mexican sweet bread and Mexican Cola, it has real sugar, so it totally smashes on Classic Coke. Le wasn't really into the bread that he choose.
On Saturday, I spent most of my day with my parents. It was pretty awesome. I was teaching my dad how to use the internet and search for things of his interest. My mom is knitting me a sweater inspired by the Rodarte collection, so she was showing me all of her tools and yarn. It was dope to hear her talk about how she got into knitting and sowing. It was a great weekend.
We're about mid-summer of '10 and yesterday in Downtown LA was extremely hot. It felt like triple digits, but it was probably in the 80s or 90s which is still crazy hot. I helped the gallery move from Chinatown to Culver City and we were going through water bottles like kids go through candy. It was fun though, I cleaned out a supply/ book case and got to see a bunch of awesome randomness.
I have been enjoying my summer. True Blood is still goin' strong. Now with added wolves. Still bumin' it with friends, helping the economy by eating out or having bbqs. My brother is getting married at the end of July, so we've been busy with that and going to his bachelor parties (unfortunately can't get into details about that).
Bought the ALBUM OF THE SUMMER/YEAR
I want to go to her and Robyn's All Hearts Tour, but it conflicts with my brother's wedding, Saturday, July 24th. Rehearsal dinner is at 5pm in Temecula on Friday, July 23rd the night of her concert in LA. There is no way I can make it back in time for the show.
In world news: Spain won the World Cup '10! I had so much fun with it this year, it felt bigger than ever before. Best/worse world cup memory watching the US lose to Ghana in Vegas with a crowd of people cheering and jeering. Also driving down from Vegas to watch Mexico loose to Argentina.
It would have been amazing to be in Spain during this period, although I really did enjoy my time when I was there. The Spanish need no excuse to party.
TRUE BLOOD Season 3 Premier! On a side note. I have also started watching, Spartacus, blood and sand. It's very graphic, but I enjoy it. The style in which it's filmed is pretty cool!
I finally finished Season 2! I killed it in a weekend! I'm super tired. I would go to sleep at 4:30am and wake up at 11am because I needed to know what was goin' on!? It's my new obsession. Although, season 1 was better. Season 2, the plot got a little too crazy. I'm interested to see how the characters will continue to grow.
I have been trying to finish the first two seasons of True Blood before the third season starts this June. I just finished the first season last night. Show is pretty dope. If I took some V, this is what I would hope to trip.
Tomorrow I will be attending a taping of The Price is Right . I'll be there for my friend, Kristina's 25th birthday. I'm pretty excited because I grew up watching this show. I remember my brothers and I would ALWAYS watch that show, especially during summer vacations. The only bad thing is that Bob Barker has retired already! MAN! He should have stayed till the end, just like a captain. He needs to go down with his ship. Maybe, I'll win a new blender? No. Seriously, I know for a fact I would not get picked to be a contestant. One, I'm monotone, two, I'm not exciting and three... you can fill in the rest.
That's what I'm talkin' about. I want this to be my carpet in the living room. Next to all the taxidermy that I will be collecting (aka roadkill off the freeways). Kelis would agree.
Masha Novoselova in V Magazine’s Spain April 2010 issue
Tuesday night I headed over to cinespace with Time Change to see Kelis perform. Homegurl took forever to get on stage and she only performed 4 songs, but one was a remix, so really it was only 3 songs. Also, there was an annoying drunk little girl who was literally out of her mind and two lame douche bags that thought it would be funny to yell out, "Nas! Nas! Nas!" Obvi, it didn't catch on and they felt even stupider. But even after all that, I felt that she was really dope, she talked to the crowd for a minute, danced around, and had us sing happy birthday to her friend. I can't wait until her album drops. Oh yeah, I also feel blessed because she passed right by me; Thank you baby Jesus.
I will be 25 years old soon and have been thinking about "mi vida loca". I realize that I will only be Henry in this lifetime, so I'm going to enjoy it. I'm going to eat meat and wear fur. My goal in life was to wear a dead animal and thanks to my moms, I got this gem. It used to be my grandpa's, he used to put it ontop of his bed. Now I have it and I love it!
